Having spent Christmas and the early part of the New Year cruising the BVIs short-handed, Marten 49, Yani,
wrapped up the Caribbean racing season in fine, winning fashion, while celebrating her first birthday, to the day, by winning Class III in the 2008 Antigua Sailing Week regatta.
With her teak decks and luxurious appointments, Yani may have seemed out of place racing against purpose-built,
stripped-out racing yachts, however her results suggested otherwise. Maintaining impressive pace over the range of
light to heavy wind conditions both upwind and down, Yani's 12 point margin of victory was nothing short of extraordinary.
En route to her strong showing at Antigua, Yani also took to the podium at the BVI Sailing Festival where she won
the racing division and placed 2nd in the spinnaker 3 division at the St Maarten Heineken Regatta.
With uncompromising attention to detail applied to all stages of design and production in the unique integration
of performance and comfort, the production built Marten 49 continues to prove just how remarkable this yacht really is in either guise.
